Now you may be wondering why don't I just ditch the sword and challenge myself again? Well thats cos every gun I was picking up was so ineffectively useless. And in a badass way mind you with the spin slicing and the lunging so I enjoyed and stuck with it. Finding a monster's elemental weakness became trivial when sheer power was enough everytime to topple them. In the moments I came really close, the sword and spamming special attacks just refilled my health back up. Then somewhere halfway into the game, I simply by chance acquired the strongest loot sword ever.

Ruined Village, Cyber City, Some Temple, and that's it? Borderlands 2 had a dozen zones at least which prevented this stagnation of scenarios. Not to mention the repetitive landscapes where a bajillion quests occur in. It was so efficient that the badass novelty wore off immediately. What would happen is, I would just infinite dash my way to the objective, slice whatever needs slicing (see below), then instantly teleport outta there without backtracking. I think it's because of the quest structure. But not for someone looking for a follow-up to one of the most badass remakes. Combine that with the "nifty" teleport system and the somewhat imbalanced loot system, and you have a paradise for speedrunners. In SW1, dashing and special attacks had a stamina cost. But very specific design choices make it so boring and repetitive. It's one of those games where it sounds so cool on paper Shadow Warrior meets Borderlands 2.
